Our Trip to Tucson!

Broc's mom and John invited us to go to Tucson with them for a few days. We were so excited to get out of this cold weather and go on a little mini vacation! We flew of of Idaho Falls Thursday afternoon and arrived in Tucson around 3pm. It was sooo nice there! It was in the high 80's and sunny the whole time we were there. John rented a convertible so we drove around with the top off as much as we could to soak up some extra sun. We went to dinner at a place called the Claim Jumper and it was so good! If you ever go to Tucson I highly recommend it! We were all so full after dinner we went back to the Condo and went to bed. On Friday we went to the Old Tucson Studios and saw where they filmed all the old western shows such as Tombstone, Gunsmoke, Little house on the prairie and a bunch of others. It was so cool to see all the old looking buildings. They had some of the original clothes and props from the movies there too.

After the Old Tucson Studios we went to the Pima Air Museum. It was pretty cool to see all the old planes. We even got to go in Air Force One. (of course it was from when Kennedy was president, but it was still fun to see) It's amazing all the amenities that it had in the 1960's I can't imagine what it's like now. We also got to see a plane like the one that dropped the atomic bombs during WWII. Most of the planes were so big that it amazes me that they can even get off the ground.

On Saturday John rented Harleys for us and we rode from Tucson to Tombstone. It was such a nice ride. We took some back roads that Broc and John mapped out so we got to see some of the country in Arizona.

When we got to Tombstone it was like we stepped back in time. All of the buildings are old looking and their was horses and buggies going down main street. We went in the Birdcage Theatre which was owned by Wyatt Earp and his brothers. It is the only original building still standing in Tombstone. It was so cool to see how people lived and what the town would have looked like in the late 1800's. It's amazing to me how much has changed since then. There was some medical tools on display at on of the museums we went in and it's no wonder people didn't live very long, most of them looked like torture devices. We rode back to Tucson and went to dinner at Benihana's. It was so yummy! Then we went back to the Condo to pack and go to bed because we had an early flight home in the morning.

I was so excited to come home and see Lexie we missed her so much!

When we left Tucson it was warm and when we landed in Idaho Falls it was cold, windy and snowing....Welcome home!

Thank you so much John and Melissa for an awesome vacation! Thanks Blayne, Leslie, Mom, Dad, and Mandy for watching Lexie and Gizmo for us, you guys are the best!

We are so lucky to have such a great family!
